It started as a reliable supplier of various diesel engine components for the premier government- owned power company, National Power Corporation (NPC). We supply complete line of spare parts for various types of diesel engine such as Wartsila Sulzer, SEMP-Pielstick, MHI-MAN, MWM-DEUTZ, Perkins diesel engine and generator set. At present, we continue to provide quality engine parts for independent power producer such as Bauang Private Power Corp and Palawan Power to name a few.
From assisting power producer to power distribution
EMPI plays a vital role in connecting power generation to power distribution by representing tower manufacturers who are capable to undertake supply and turnkey transmission line projects financed by International Funding Institutions such as ADB, World Bank and Japan Export/Import Bank. Two reputable companies from India (Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd. and KEC International Ltd.) were awarded several supply and turnkey transmission projects ranging from 69KV up to 500KV.
Renewable Energy Source
Our exposure to the energy sector made us aware of the inter dependence of energy to the country’s growth and its increasing demand due to our growing population and urbanization. In 1997, EMPI ventured into new and renewable energy by becoming a distributor of solar water heaters to put more focus on innovative products utilizing renewable energy. Later on, we introduced to the Philippine market the evacuated heat-pipe solar water heating system, which has greater efficiency in terms of solar thermal heat collection.
As the demand for energy efficient products increase, we searched for alternative sources of energy that could provide not just hot water but also give power to run basic appliances for household use. We speculated in solar photovoltaic panels and through the help of the Department of Energy and other government agencies focused on renewable energy, we have been involved in several electrification projects throughout the country.
Solar Thermal Technology
At present, our highly qualified engineers and technicians can design solar energy systems for various applications such as solar home lighting, solar streetlight, solar water pumping, solar lighting for communal facilities, and other applications which address the need of our clients.
The latest addition to the efficient solar energy products we carry is the solar-assisted air-conditioner. Since a large portion (50-60%) of the energy consumption in homes, offices, factories and other institutional facilities is used to for air-conditioning system, the solar-assisted air-conditioner relieves as much as 50% of power for other uses. This spells a lot of energy savings for the power consumers plus it greatly contributes to the reduction of carbon dioxide emission.
